VueMe downloads data using encrypted transfer over the wireless network. You can set a passcode that encrypts the non-image information for the downloaded data and prevents unauthorized access.

I never did manage to really try the app with my own images because I couldnt get them into MIMCloud which is the only option if you have your own data. MIMCloud is an extremely weighty java applet that I could not get to work in anything but Internet Explorer after having to install java -- this was a pain because I dont use Windows as my primary operating system and as an IT security professional I recommend that people *dont* have java installed as it constitutes a pretty serious security risk. After finally hauling out and booting up the old PC, the interface, which actually *scans through your computer* rather than just opening up a standard upload file chooser, wouldnt allow me to access the mapped network drive that my images were on. At that point I gave up. Plus, you only get 3 free uploads anyway -- not even enough for the xray set that I wanted to view. Further, uploads are a buck a piece -- which I suppose isntt that big a deal BUT I dont need or want to use a hosting service in the first place! All I want to is to transfer the damn files to my iPad which would be far easier if I could just use file sharing in iTunes. Fine, I get that MIM needs to have a revenue model.... but seriously, for the amount of data that Im *actually* going to upload for a $1 an image, theyd be better off charging a few bucks for the app and giving me access to file sharing.
